You Can't Plan It This is the first song on here where a bit of the writing credit goes to someone else. A bit of the organ part and a bit of the piano part at the end should be credited to Christopher William Hart-Moynihan I. Now that's over with... Wrote the riff in 15/8 originally. It was used in a song by The People. Kind of a weird spacey song. I reaaally liked the riff and wanted to use it in my own song. At some point I wanted a song I could perform on the drums, piano, and singing, simultaneously. So I came up with the rest of the music in december of '07. Then at school I recorded a rough version on my mac speaker, which had terrible quality but had a lot of energy and I really liked it. So I re-recorded the instruments at the same tempo as that scratch track. Then it took me until July '09 to have an idea for lyrics that fit with the mood of the music. Verse melody had been written in a previous go-around, chorus melody was new with these lyrics. One of my favorites so far. Short and punchy, with a lot of joy in it. And I promise I'll eventually write more interesting, less procedural "abouts" at some point.
