About Grab Your Axe Ahh, the glory of being able to use a professional recording studio! SO NICE. Written and recorded for my Music 192b class, "Advanced Sound Recording Technology." Recorded in the studio at Stanford's CCRMA - Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (pronounced "karma"). The piano was a yamaha disklavier, the drum set was borrowed from Cardinal Calypso (as were the double tenor steel pans). The guitar was my friend Purun's, the guitar amp was my friend Ben's, and the Bass was my friend JP's. I played everything except the steel drum which my other friend Ben played. As a song, it's decent. Not the most complicated. That's mostly due to the deadline of "give me a recording by the end of the quarter." THE QUALITY IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN NORMAL AHHHH. satisfaction. The lyrics are about not mellowing out with age. Writing nice songs is alright, but it's not the same as writing badass songs. Written/Recorded in February/March of 2010. Steel Drum performance credit to Ben Roth.
