About Do You See (writing this 8/2008) Lets see... I recorded this the day the seniors were graduating when I was a sophomore in high school. So... June '05. Maybe junior year...maybe '06. I wanted to see what it sounded like when I recorded myself singing the same thing 20 times. I wanted to BE my own chorus. So I recorded one part. Then redid it several times. Then I did another part following it. Then redid it several times. Etc. etc. Then I did a random 'lead singer' thing during one part. I jotted down the most brief lyrics that came to my head and sang them. The song originally ended abruptly on '50 says we won't stop world hunger', which a friend of mine said was amazing and it should stay that way, but I still wanted a little coda. So I did a tick tick tick thing and did a chorus outro thing, with a Wierd-Al inspired 'ahh' at the end. I love this song because it's so outrageous. I also have to say though, that the message in the lyrics - asking people about their futures in a cynical way - is a tad profound... Do you see what YOU want to be?
